Whether your house was built in 1960 or 1760, taking time to conduct
an annual inspection can help you prioritize repair and routine maintenance
projects to ensure its long-term preservation. Historic New England
Senior Stewardship Manager Joseph Cornish reveals what to look for when
inspecting the exterior and interior of your old house and how to address
common problems.
Painting is among the most important tasks for exterior upkeep and
provides the chance for a new look. Sally Zimmerman, manager of historic
preservation services at Historic New England will discuss how to use
exterior paint color to improve the curb appeal of your old house, what
colors work with which architectural styles, and how color placement
can rejuvenate the appearance and play up the best features of the house’s
design. Part three of a four-part series celebrating National Preservation
Month this May. Jointly sponsored by the Waltham Historical Society
and Historic New England, Inc.
Registration is required. Special pricing available for tickets for
entire series.
